Education & Advanced Training
A lifelong learner with a passion for precision, Dr. Afshar began his academic journey at Rutgers University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2014. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, graduating in 2018.
After dental school, Dr. Afshar completed an intensive General Practice Residency at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, NY. There, he gained advanced training in comprehensive care, oral surgery, cosmetic procedures, and complex restorative treatments skills he now brings to the residents of Somerset and surrounding areas.

Life Outside the Office
Originally from Abington, Pennsylvania, Dr. Afshar now calls New Jersey home.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time at the gym, exploring new culinary recipes, studying art, and reading. He and his wife, Meghna, are proud parents to their daughter, Esme, and are currently enjoying the exciting journey of first-time parenthood.
